Pastor Johnson Receives African American Male Image Award

On Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the 25th annual African American Male Image Awards Banquet, our pastor, the Rev. Dr. Andre E. Johnson, received a Male Image Award in Religion from the brothers of Tau Iota Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. Sponsored in conjunction with the Hobson-Goodlow Education Foundation, the purpose of this banquet is to "raise funds to support college-bound African American male high school seniors and recognize African American men in the Memphis community who exhibit a sense of Brotherhood for all (humankind), have respect for Scholarship, and are involved in Community Service. The Foundation honors African American men who excel in the areas of Arts, Business, Corporate, Community Service, Education, and Religion and have made an impact in the Memphis community through their service and work endeavors." Hobson-Goodlow and the Fraternity have honored more than 100 African American males within the local community in the past 24 years and have donated over $100,000 toward the education of young men.
